Food Safety Audit Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job description will change as job position evolves. Audit Coordinator will assist in Quality/Food Safety for the plant and in keeping all Surlean facilities “audit ready” at all times. Reports to Technical Services Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for performing internal audits and maintaining internal audit program.
  • Follows up on audit findings to ensure non-conforming items are corrected.
  • Leads all third party audits.
  • Assists in training employees when needed.
  • Reviews errors with employees and applies discipline if needed.
  • Coordinates with all departments of any findings during internal of third party audits.
  • Assists QA in maintaining product quality and training.
  • Review all departments’ documents by following internal document audit schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Quality Program (BRC Binders).
  • Responsible for submitting all corrective actions for third party audits.
  • Responsible for maintaining new product documents.
  • Responsible for ensuring new product documents are prepared prior to any new production runs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must have knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety requirements.
  • Must be able to interact with other Department Managers/ Team Managers.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.
  • Must have basic knowledge of audit requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or manufacturing background.

EMEREGENCY PLAN FOR TASK AND JOB ASSIGNMENTS:

In the event that the Audit Coordinator is not available the Technical Services and Auditing Manager will be responsible for assigning task and verifying task completion.

  • Manufacturing: 1 year
  • Auditing: 1 year
  • HACCP/Food Safety: 1 year
