- Manage the Safe Quality
Program (SQF) Certification Program with the goal of maintaining the
highest SQF rating.
- Validate, verify and review
quality management and food safety systems to ensure regulatory
compliance, policies and procedures.
- Manage pre-operational and
operational inspections of all processing areas to ensure proper
Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Good Manufacturing
Procedures (GMP) are being followed. Implement corrective actions
immediately * Manage daily and weekly HACCP program to ensure proper
recording and verification. Serve as the HACCP Coordinator for the
facility. * Responsible for the food safety of all products and
processes, and specification compliance on ingredients, packaging and
finished goods. * Responsible for communication of quality and food
safety standards to plant personnel through training, corrective
actions, production monitoring and product evaluations. Coordinate
annual employee training programs for GMPs, HACCP and other food
safety and quality issues as necessary. * Manage daily allergen
control program to ensure proper recording and verification. * Manage
daily, weekly and quarterly sanitation program to ensure that proper
chemicals and procedures are followed. * Conduct bi-monthly pest
control inspections and perform required documentation. As needed,
discuss program updates with the pest control vendor. * Conduct yearly
mock recall exercises. * Conduct raw material inspections at the
Shipping and Receiving Department. * Ensure compliance and record
keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing samplings and
sanitation activities. * Perform internal monthly and quarterly food
safety audits and follow-up on corrective actions. * Maintain strong
presence on the production floor. * Oversee direct reports to endure
the department is properly scheduled, staffed and trained to handle
their daily responsibilities. * Serve as the key contact with agency
personnel (USDA, FDA) in resolution of regulatory issues and requests.
* Manage the food label approval process according to government
regulations with daily review and approval of labels used in
production. * Partner with Planing,
Production and Warehouse teams to maximize results. * Keep informed
regarding pending industry changes, trends and best practices by
reading relevant periodical and articles and access
the impact of these changes to audit compliance.
