Job Description



Imagine Staffing Technology is recruiting for a QA Manager, on behalf of their multi-national food manufacturing client with significant operations in the eastern-Maryland area. This QA Manager will lead a team to monitor, develop, and implement quality assurance programs and procedures to assure conformance of incoming ingredients, materials and finished products to establish specifications and quality standards.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible of supporting talent management of QC team members to ensure the engagement of each member.
  • Communicates with stakeholders the effectiveness of food safety programs and to address regulatory and compliances issues and incidents.
  • Develop and implement training and refresher programs to ensure that GMPs, food safety training, HACCP, etc. are adhered to by all company staff.
  • Deal with quality-related issues; implement corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Ensure the adherence to the company HACCP, BRC, and SQF 2 plan and pre requisite programs, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Interact with the FDA and USDA, and be the lead contact and coordinator for weekly meetings, audits, etc.
  • Work with senior management to recommend improvements to current quality systems and practices. 

 

Job Requirements

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, or related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ progressive experience in food manufacturing, with at least three to five combined years of supervisory and management experience
  • Carton based retort experience preferred; thermal processing, canning, or other aseptic packaging experience acceptable in lieu of carton based retort
  • Familiar with BRC/SQF audit systems; previous implementations and successful audit history preferred
  • Understanding of LACF/Aseptic practices
  • Familiar with USDA, FDA, FSIS, and FSEP regulatory compliance and program requirements
  • A clear understanding of US labelling guidelines and requirements
