Based in Pennsylvania, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate North America offers the food industry a wide range of both standard and custom cocoa and chocolate ingredients to be used in food manufacturing, bakery, confectionery, and dairy applications. Our product range includes high quality Gerkens Cocoa Powder, Wilbur Chocolate, Peterís Chocolate and Veliche Belgian Chocolate. Our facilities in the US and Canada are fully dedicated to produce in accordance with the highest food safety standards.
The Cocoa Bean Technician is an integral part of the plant quality and production systems. This position provides support for production operations and cocoa bean purchasing. The Cocoa Bean Technician assists the FSQR and productions teams by measuring product before and after purchase to obtain raw data. The results generated are provided to the FSQR team for analysis. The results of the analysis are used by the purchasing and production teams to determine the most efficient use of the material. The Cocoa Bean Technicianís primary activities are to manage and execute CCNAís cocoa bean product analysis, including physical and chemical testing, managing quality documentation within the lab, and working with the other departments within the business to provide support for quality and food safety issues.
∑ 70% - Perform physical and chemical testing in support of production operations and purchasing
∑ 10% - Maintain quality control documents for legal and historical purposes
∑ 10% - Perform analysis of testing and systems in support of production
∑ 5% - Provide quality support and guidance to production operations and purchasing
∑ 5% - Other assignments as required
Relocation assistance will not be provided.
∑ A Bachelorís degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related topic
∑ Familiarity with GMPís
∑ Familiarity with Microsoft Office
∑ Must be able to walk up and down stairs
∑ Must be able to lift 50 lbs
∑ Must be able to work overtime if needed
∑ Must be able to work off hours if needed
∑ Current valid driverís license
∑ Willing to work with different exposures, environmental conditions can contain air particulates (PM10)
∑ Familiarity with SAP and HACCP
∑ Previous food safety, quality, or production experience in food manufacturing
∑ Previous experience in chocolate manufacturing
