The Product Development Associate
Scientist will have a dual role with primary responsibility in managing NEB
specifications and secondary responsibility managing product development
Create/develop internal ingredient and
Act as a liaison with vendors and internal
groups to ensure timely specification entry, routing and approval.
Track progress and issue weekly updates
Review documentation for accuracy.
Communicate effectively within and across
functions to elevate any situation that may cause a delay in approval.
Enter formulas into the system using
approved ingredient specifications.
Support product development and cost
reduction initiatives for Naked Juice, ONE and IZZE Brands.
Represent product development on
multi-functional business teams.
Provide brand maintenance support for
juice products in NEB's portfolio.
Utilize experimental design and data
interpretation tools to make technically sound recommendations.
Develop and maintain effective working
relationships across R&D and non-R&D functions.
Support production at bench top, pilot
plant, and manufacturing levels for shelf life, stability, sales samples,
scale-up, and other needs.
Provide trial and commercialization
support to products
B.S. degree in Food Science, Chemistry,
Engineering, or related field with 2 or more years of experience.
Knowledge & Skill Set Requirements:
Excellent organizational skills and
ability to coordinate effectively among internal and external constituents.
Working knowledge of FSS or other
specification documentation systems is preferred.
Strong knowledge and demonstration of
product formulation and formulation chemistry.
Experience in juice or beverage product
Strong working knowledge of product
development protocols, including formulation, stability testing,
product/package interaction, sensory and consumer testing methodology.
Possess strong work ethic and ability to
be a self-starter.
Demonstrated ability to function
effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment as well as manage
multiple projects simultaneously.
Adapts to change well, with the personal
leadership to influence and positively motivate self and peers.
