Keys Fisheries, Inc. invites applicants for the position of the Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the Food Safety Team to ensure company and government quality standards are met in the following areas.

Food Safety Compliance: Must have strong knowledge of seafood, SQF, FDA, USDC, and USDA Regulations and Directives, HACCP, SOPís, QMP, and GMPís.

 

Documentation/Communication: Ensure microbiology, allergen, and food safety records and data is appropriately documented, the interpretation of the data is correct, and the results are effectively communicated to appropriate individuals. Understands and drives continuous improvement of the plant food safety processes and environmental monitoring performances issues.

 

Training and standardization: Develop, designs, and delivers quality training including new hire, new process, new equipment, and new policy training in English and Spanish.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for execution and documentation of the Food Safety Program. Includes documentation of all CCPís, HACCP, FDA, QMP, SQF, and Pest Control. Responsible for conducting investigation of all Food Safety issues through a Corrective Action/Preventive Action process. Lead internal GMP, quality standards, and system audits for the facility. Assist with execution and follow up of regulatory, internal, and external audits (FDA, SQF, USDC, State, etc.)

 

Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelorís degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or other related field. 4-7 yearsí experience in food manufacturing, and food safety experience. HACCP Certified and SQF Practitioner preferred. Must be a self-starter and able to anticipate work requirements, must be flexible to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the plant, must be able to be on feet for extended periods. Ability to speak and write Spanish fluently preferred.
