Responsible to direct and oversee the building and maintaining all necessary quality and food safety programs at TCCA.  Specific responsibilities include oversight of all regulatory, quality assurance and quality control activities associated with the Tillamook manufacturing plant location.

Build and maintain all necessary quality and food safety programs, including oversight of all regulatory, quality assurance and quality control activities.

         Responsible for the hiring, training, and retention of a high performing team in the department

         Manages and directs the plant QA and sanitation staff.

         Maintains and chairs HACCP and prerequisite food safety programs for facilities operations.

         Assists Quality management team with development and implementation of food safety and quality initiative programs.

         Works collaboratively with all departments to insure quality and safety programs are properly designed, implemented, and maintained.

         Oversees food safety and quality related training for employees.

         Serve as primary plant contact for USDA, FDA, third-party auditors and ODA officials.

         Provide feedback, direction, and support to senior management, sales/marketing, warehouse, logistics and production on quality, food safety, regulatory, labeling, or other concerns.

         Research, identify, and resolve concerns identified by sales and marketing, in-house production, and upper management related to quality assurance.

         Develop and maintain documentation of existing and new programs.

         Direct Supervison for QA Supervisor & Manufacturing Sanitation Manager

         Responsible to develop budget and authorize expenditures within approved department budget.

         Establishes, monitors, and reviews individual and team performance.

         Perform other duties as requested.


Education and Experience:

Bachelorís degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

HACCP and SQF Practitioner certification is required (may be obtained upon hire).

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.

 Ability to communicate effectively.

 Must be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.  ERP system knowledge is required;    NAV is a plus.

  Must be a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.

  Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision. Familiarity with Regulatory and PMO requirements if required.

Management Team Responsibilities:

         Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.

         Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed.

  Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
