DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

Hiring for 2 similar positions.

The Food Scientist will lead global product development juice projects through all stages of development and execution. The role will require the ability to design products, assess ingredients, conduct stability assessments, and assist with launch preparation of juice and juice drinks.  The associate will represent R&D on cross functional teams interacting with marketing, insights, supply chain, procurement, finance, regulatory, sensory and quality to deliver projects on time and within budget. The role will involve laboratory and pilot plant environments. The candidate will have a degree in food science, food engineering or related degree.

Reports to: Senior Manager, Global Juice Innovation

Location: Greater Orlando Area

Must Haves & Preferred experience/duties:

  • Proven experience in product development and scale up at plant
  • Strong technical fundamentals and problem solving ability
  • Cross functional and project management skills
  • Experience in juice, liquid food product development and commercialization a plus
  • Exposure to working in multicultural environments preferred

Scale & Scope:

  • Design and develop new products from bench top to commercialization while staying within specified parameters of cost and label claims; evaluate new ingredients, verify nutritional profiles, and conduct product or packaging stability assessments to deliver against design.
  • Represent R&D in cross functional meetings with marketing, supply chain, procurement, sensory, regulatory and quality.
  • Develop new product specifications and own formula entry into formula management system.
  • Provide technical services and troubleshooting services to the manufacturing facilities.
  • Manage documentation and records in order to ensure that they are complete, current,  secure and easily retrievable. This may include designing, organizing or maintaining   technical or regulatory records and reports.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in food science or related field required, Masters preferred

Related Work Experience: 5 plus years work experience in CPG company

Travel Requirements:  Domestic/global travel up to 15%
