The Research and Development Project Manager role is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating project activities while managing to the triple constraint of scope, time, and cost. Delivering high quality, organization-wide business projects, meeting business needs, and adapting new and existing technology across business teams and operating groups are key to the Project Manager role.



The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Ensure proper process documentation is maintained
  • Use established processes to ensure projects are properly defined to enable success
  • Utilize proven project management techniques
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement integrated solutions
  • Utilize proven testing best practices
  • Implement methodology consistently in project work
  • Create and maintain project and resource planning that addresses the project’s major milestones, accomplishments, and resource needs
  • Facilitate and drive resolution of project issues and risks
  • Ensure project-based communications between customers, support, delivery, and teams is appropriate and timely

Job Requirements




  • BS Degree in a Food Science or Engineering related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years minimum experience in project management
  • Proven experience in software related project management
  • Possess a solid understanding of the product development life cycle and proven project management techniques
  • SAP/PLM knowledge preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable
  • Travel:  25-50%
  • Familiar with food manufacturing processes



Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees

Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.

Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. However; the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate controlled office. Travel may be required.
