We have been engaged to find an experienced Food Chemist with hands-on experience in new product development from concept to commercialization. Ideal candidate has a degree in Food Science with experience in baked goods to include analytical testing, quality, labeling, sensory testing, product scale, self-life and more.

Food Chemist duties and responsibilities:

Driving the identification, development and commercialization of new products
Sourcing of all raw materials and ingredients that meet internal specifications, manage relations with key vendors, suppliers, ingredient and flavor houses
Develop then scale products for both retail food service and consumer packaged/manufactured products
Managing the projects to timely results through the internal new product process and cross functional teamwork
Ensuring a consistent on-going flow of future new products pipeline consistent with business unit's strategic direction
Support day to day issue resolution and technical services to Operations

The qualified Food Chemist candidate will have:

Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, MS Degree is a plus
3-5 years Product Development and Food Products Innovation, experience working inside of a snack food manufacturing company is ideal
Ability to effectively leverage the worldwide supplier base and consistently drive innovation
Education and industry experience with dry mixes, blending, and flour application is preferred 
Understanding of food chemistry with mixes, coatings, fats, oils and sugar
Strong knowledge in self-life and the science of shelf-life extensions 
Experience with the development of new prototypes, marketing testing and cost to launch
Hands-on experience with sensory testing and consumer feedback
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 
Work with internal and external teams members 
Passion for innovations, game-changing products in the global baked goods category
Up to date on the latest industry trends, trade publications, associations and products
