Position Purpose
Conducts research aligned with business needs for carcass utilization, price realization, quality issues, and exploration of novel concepts influential to the goals of the business. Research can include all segments of the supply chain from live animal management to value added fabrication strategies. The purpose of this position is to provide technical expertise, project leadership, and development of novel concepts to optimize value of carcasses harvested by all Cargill facilities. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a synergistic strategy between procurement, operations, sales and further processors to maximize carcass revenue.

Principal Accountabilities
30% - Deliver high performance innovation supporting procurement, plant operations, and development of new products.
30% - Provide technical leadership in process development, total quality management, and operational excellence.
25% - Explore novel concepts to optimize use of raw materials and alternertive strategies to improve quality.
10% - Build collaboration between members of the beef business unit, CAP platform, and Cargill Corporate team.
5% - Build, maintain, and defend IP portfolio.

Qualifications

 Requirements

         Bachelorís Degree in food/meat science, food safety, or food processing 

         A minimum of 2 years experience in beef plant operations, total quality management of beef production systems, exploration of novel applications to food processing, and/or research. Previous experience in food safety, new product development, and/or management is highly preferred.

         A strong background in scientific procedure and project management skills is required. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter. Experimental design, statistical analysis, technical writing, and effective communication skills are required.

         This position requires a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office. Previous experience with statistical software is highly preferred.

         Travel Ė 30-50%

         Masters or PhD.
