QA Lead
Under the direction of the Food Safety Manager the QA Lead will oversee the implementation of the HACCP program for a USDA Facility. The QA Lead is a proactive strategic thinker who manages staff in a variety of settings in order to ensure the all GMPís & SSOPís are followed along with proper documentation. The QA Lead is also responsible for assisting the Food Safety Manager in making changes to the HACCP program as needed, conducting mock recalls, responding to all NRís and preparing for 3rd party Audits.

Duties to include:

  • Review daily pre-operational and operational inspections of all processing areas to ensure proper Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) are being followed. Implement corrective actions.
  • Manage daily HACCP compliance by review of records and observations to ensure programs are followed as written.
  • Act as a company liaison with regulatory agencies, including daily interactions and correcting any non-compliances.
  • Manage product description sheets and specifications.
  • Manage the environmental sampling program.
  • Assist in food safety audits, including 3rd party and all internal audits.
  • Train newly hired employees in food safety, GMPs and SSOPs.
  • Must be HACCP certified, SQF certified a plus.
  • Build and lead a team in line with company objectives.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude & strong work ethic.
  • Communicate daily with company management any issues relating to quality and food safety.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMPís.
  • Ensure HACCP standards are followed.
  • Facilitate uniform quality standards for food safety.
  • Train employees in GMPís.
