Quality Assurance Manager – NorbestMoroni, UT

Job Summary:  The Quality Assurance Manager is an analytical, patient, systematic, and disciplined person for the position. This position will involve insuring compliance of all types of government procedures. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the company quality assurance system ensuring that all product manufactured by the operation division meets customers and USDA specifications as well as achieving superior quality and reliability levels.


Main job tasks and responsibilities:

·         Develops and implements a quality production program to ensure conformity of final products to quality standards.

·         Oversees testing during pre-determined time intervals to meet quality standards set by Norbest

·         Revises and updates quality control programs to incorporate statistical control programs

·         Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality issues as required

·         Prepares for and represents the company during all Norbest and related audits

·         Coordinate and approve all sample submissions of products and changes

·         Prepare all necessary reports and required by customers and company personnel

·         Supervises and manages the QA technicians at both processing facilities

·         Responsible for product quality and food safety

·         Manages and coordinates and oversees the company HACCP program

·         Ability to develop a professional working relationship with all personnel

·         Ability to create a clear perspective for personnel of what is expected as well as being skilled at achieving those objectives

·         Good working knowledge of all USDA regulations, requirements, policies and programs

·         Familiarity with USDA labeling

·         Knowledge of and ability to write, administer and maintain HACCOP program

·         Computer literate with spreadsheet, work processing and statistical analysis

·         Ability to interact well with others providing a professional demeanor at all times, especially with USDA personnel

·         Knowledge of and ability to write, administer and maintain a variety of QA programs

·         Good analytical skills (proximate n=analysis, microbiological testing etc.)


·         Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook or similar computer knowledge to perform the functions of this position

·         Good communication skills including grammar and punctuation

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred

·         Certifications as Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality improvement Associate, Sox sigma a definite plus

·         Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience

·         Experience with implementation of corrective action programs

·         Product or industry-specific experience

·         Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA

·         Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
