The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC – Magic Valley, Idaho

The Amalgamated Sugar Company LLC is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Professional, focusing on the development and implementation of the Feed Products Safety and Quality Program. The Food Safety & Quality Professional works under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager. This position develops, implements, reviews and maintains the Food Safety and Quality System (FSQS).

More specifically, the Food Safety & Quality Professional will lead in the development of area-specific Food Safety fundamentals, maintain the area-specific Food Quality & Safety Plan, implement and maintain the FSQS at the assigned location(s), develop an in-depth understanding of any related code, take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the FSQS system and maintain primary responsibility to insure Product Hold Policy (6.5-SOP-001) compliance. This position is also responsible for day to day documentation of all required facets of the FSQS.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of the corporate FSQS.
  • Lead in the development of area-specific Food Safety & Quality Fundamentals.
  • Lead in the development and maintenance of the area-specific Food Safety Plan.
  • Implement and maintain the FSQS at the assigned location(s).
  • Develop written Standard Operating Procedures for all job functions within the scope of the Food Safety and Quality system using a standard format.
  • Review and maintain all documentation required within the scope of the FSQS at the assigned location(s) with FSQS Manager,
  • Take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the FSQS system. Primary responsibility to insure Product Hold Policy (6.5-SOP-001) compliance.
  • Maintain cost controls in all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for day to day documentation of all required facets of the FSQS.
  • Keep abreast of all regulations relative to our products.
  • Establish and maintain lines of communication, coordination, cooperation, and an informal working relationship between other departments of the Company that will ensure that plans, programs, and their progress are in harmony with and contribute to the Company’s overall objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Considerable knowledge of HACCP principles and documentation, knowledge of sugar processing and the specific job functions in the storage packaging and shipping areas.
  • Skilled in oral and technical writing, have knowledge and experience in computers, Microsoft Office Suite and photo documentation.
