SUMMARY

Working as a support resource for the senior R and D staff. Work may include: performing tests, recording data and compiling summaries, assist in the preparation of production test runs and support documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Collect and review supplier documentation.

Collect and update processing parameters for productions use.

Perform, log and archive test product evaluations.

Prepare, log and summarize tasting panel data.

Prepares shelf life samples for evaluation and records results.

Evaluate test products for market compliancy.

Responsible for updating and purging R and D sample library.

Prepares and processes test batches through the test kitchen or production cycle by adhering to the test formulation.

Provide formula support by creating, opening, and closing work orders in M3.

Monitors and supports production personnel with test or production runs.

Prepares spreadsheets and reports using computer software as directed by Research and Development Manager.

Using M3 run reports, input and or review formulas.

Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities required at this entry level.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university (preferably in Food Science or Chemistry); and one or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
