Engineer/Supervisor - Bridgetown
At Bridgetown we value safety, trust and teamwork. The Quality Engineer needs to have the technical background to support innovation, commercialization of new products and to excel in a lean, operationally excellent culture. The QE will learn the value proposition to the specific Quality and Food Safety (Q&FS) function. The Quality Engineers are front line business leaders to build a positive culture, to provide technical leadership, and training and to serve as role models for the team. This position has a path to Quality management, Production management or R&D on a rotational and merit basis.
Oversee all quality functions for a particular product line from a 24 hour perspective.
Manage, mentor and develop Quality Assurance Technicians.
Partner cross-functionally to reduce risk within business and to strengthen people, programs, and processes
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Warehouse
Administer and evaluate Q&FS functions against loss prevention and risk management goals
Build and leverage depth of technical knowledge to drive innovation and lean improvements
Provide training in the areas of quality systems, process integrity, regulatory, and food safety issues
Administer line audits process checks to ensure process control and product conformance to specification
Initiate food safety and quality hold procedures
Participate in authoring corrective actions and maintaining accurate CA logs and action registers.
Conduct and review analytical analyses on incoming ingredients and finished products
Measure and monitor environmental and plant conditions, including pre-operational startup
Conduct plant food safety and security audits, continually look for food safety hazards
Conduct daily product evaluation along with cross functional R&D and Operations team
Administer and train on SQF code and program requirements (learn SQF code if not already experienced)
Preferred Education, Experience and Characteristics:
Bachelors degree in Food Science , Engineering- Chemical Engineering Food or Microbiology
No prior experience required, 1-3 years plant experience in a Food/Beverage production facility preferred
Ability to be flexible with work hours, shifts, and shifting priorities
Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision effectively
Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, decisive nature, and high level of initiative
Respects process integrity and values results-critical thinker with strong analytical and reasoning abilities
