Purpose of Role
delivering project milestones & objectives: Technical support
technical and scientific work to contribute to the delivery of Applied
Science project milestones from the technology scouting phase to technology
evaluation in the context of new product innovations (prototypes) or COGS
for delivery of sub-projects/small clearly defined projects or project
milestones and/or operational objectives:
Conduct clearly defined sub project tasks (including action plans &
evaluation) and/or clearly defined small scale projects.
Support the development of new products with new technologies that deliver
against specified KQAs
Support the identification of new processes or raw materials for potential
application in current technology projects.
Prepare, organize, conduct & evaluate trials in the Pilot Plant and
Innovation-Kitchen and/or at external suppliers to develop/ identify
technologies and novel products.
Professional use of Innovation kitchen& Pilot Plant equipment and
convert Innovation Kitchen results into pilot processes (trial co-operation
& co-ordination with PP area supervisor as necessary).
Collect and provide all required data on process parameters, physical
product characteristics and analytical values. Analyze the above data
& write relevant scientific reports as necessary.
Apply pre-defined physical measurement methods to measure product/process
characteristics as necessary
Support the development of new measuring methods as discussed with the
project leader or scientific advisors; Capture new measuring methods via
writing measuring instructions/ specifications
Ensure execution of all operational project tasks (i.e
panels, product shipment) including those in responsibility areas agreed
for the GIC facilities (maintenance, hygiene, safety)
Validate technology performance via product attributes: feeding trials,
consumer tests, digestibility trials, stability/shelf life.
Use adequate software for recipe, process management & design and
statistics analysis (such as C5, RADAR or SolidWorks)
Provide process equipment usage inductions for associates / interns /
Mission Critical Competencies
Associate’s degree and 2-3 years technical experience.
Ability to travel 15% of the time
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Food Process
Engineering or related discipline.
Multi-site working experience
Proven creative, value-added, results producer
