Purpose: 

The R&D Scientist will execute business driven R&D projects and provide leadership on new product development activities including technical support to the Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing organizations.

 

Job description:

Professional in a technical/scientific or specialized field contributing to R&D strategy implementation and definition. Execution of large and complex development/innovation projects through applying and adapting technologies and research effectively

 

     Execute against key projects/programs as agreed upon with manager based on business needs

     Support new business opportunities and growth through innovation, product improvements, procurement and quality initiatives

     Lead and conduct benchtop development, pilot plant and plant trials for new product start-ups, improvements and plant transfers

     Provide technical support and consulting to internal and external customers, specifically in the areas of fats and oils

     Develop proficiency in OLX (ERP System), SAP and specification systems

     Mentor and coach less experienced R&D  personnel

     Follow laboratory policy and best practices

     Conduct basic research on ingredients and products developing best practices

     Provide technical leadership for assigned projects.

 

Required Skills

 Required Skills:

 

Degree in Food Science (or adjoining discipline), preferably an advanced degree or equivalent. Understanding of theoretical concepts and principles associated with Food Science. Knowledge of all processes, methods and techniques of fats and oils chemistry, processes and applications; knows the working principle behind it.

Advanced project execution skills; planning, reporting, stakeholder management.

Communication skills: presentation, analyze and knowledge transfer.

 

Required experience:

Solid background in fats and oils from a recognized institution (academic or industrial), research and development experience ideally within a new product development or innovation role

 

Skills/Work Experience:

     Demonstrated expertise in fats and oils from a recognized institution (academic  or industrial)

     Demonstrated  technical knowledge in product and process development

     Strong  problem solving skills

     Rheology

     Food Science/Chemistry

     Reporting and communication skills

Required Experience

Education / Skills:

BS degree in Food Science or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5-7 years experience in relevant field
