  • 5+ years’ experience in food industry QA and/or quality control laboratory management is required
  • Bachelor’s in food related degree preferred
  • Resourceful problem solver who takes the initiative in addressing challenging issues
  • Effective at managing through influencing others in other departments
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member who is approachable and personable
  • Excellent time management skills, adept at managing multiple priorities

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Food Quality Assurance Manager directs and oversees support staff and workflows in accordance with 7-Eleven’s policies and applicable laws and is responsible for the hands-on technical management of food safety in our commissary, bakery and other food operations.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure consistent, safe and wholesome food quality on an everyday basis
  • Develop and meet production standards
  • Develop and meet company compliance standards with SQF certification, QA programs, FDA, and USDA regulations
  • Oversee proper sanitation, food handling and safety procedures and regulations
  • Follow audit standards that will satisfy government and private sector benchmarks, including but not limited to HACCP, SQF and AIB
  • Create audit logs and maintain all food safety records
  • Interface with internal departments such as store operations, IT and management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations and practices
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, and adhere to Company’s policies
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to delegate and coach others
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and confidence intervals
  • Ability to apply algebraic concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to review, understand, and present conclusions from collection of food safety and quality data
  • Ability to communicate job procedures and give clear concise instructions
  • Solid working knowledge of software used in the performance of job including Word and Excel

Required experience:

  • Food Industry: 5 years
