Qualified candidate must have 3-5 years’
experience in a QA food processing environment, PLUS a Bachelor
of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology or a comparable degree.
The Quality Assurance Manager will develop and manage Quality Assurance
programs and activities that ensure compliance with company policies, food
safety standards, government regulations and industry best practices
including GMP and HACCP. The candidate will integrate quality assurance and
quality control into all functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Ensure compliance with all quality programs, including GMP and HACCP
-Evaluate and assist in developing processes, specifications and critical
control points in manufacturing, for ongoing quality assurance of all
-Manage HACCP assessments and reassessments.
-Compose and edit HACCP plans and strategies for new products.
-Maintain current library for all GMPs, SOPs.
-Participate and contribute to continuous improvement of departmental SOPs.
-Ensure that all new regulations (i.e.: FSMA) are quickly and accurately
-Implement Quality Assurance Programs that effectively monitor product
manufacturing that result in company compliance with regulatory SOP, GMP,
HACCP and SQF level 3 standards for third party audit and customer product
-Establish manufacturing specifications, standards, protocols and
procedures for quality control and new product development.
-Develop and execute training programs that support the Company’s
objectives in compliance with quality and food safety.
-Detailed knowledge and proven track record of successful
implementation of food manufacturing policies and procedures (GMP)
-HAACP Certification (CHA) and proven ability to write HACCP plans.
-Ability to multi task – managing multiple projects concurrently.
-STRONG written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
-Familiarity with USDA and FDA regulatory standards as well as SQF practioner standards
-Proficient Microsoft Office skills
-Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
