Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist
Play an imperative role in the development, monitoring and enhancement of food safety and qualityprograms for AFCFC franchised and AFC internal operations. Ensure applicable operations are implemented in accordance with the guidelines constructed by the FSQA Manager and Senior Management. Support the management of third party and internal food safety auditing programs; directly coordinate with team counterparts in establishing trend analyses, conducting one-on-one and group training sessions andthe creation and implementation of policies and procedures to drive improvement of the overall Food Safety and Quality systems.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work with compliance team and cross-functional divisions in heightening the internal food protection program and suppliers’ performance
  • Assist in maintaining the internal wholesale program compliant in accordance to the GFSI scheme
  • Manage, monitor and examine consumer claim program
  • Communicate with local, state and federal regulatory agencies pertaining to new and existing legislation and corrective action plans
  • Co-manage third party Food Safety Auditing vendors
  • Formulate data trend analyses, identify gaps and develop viable action plans
  • Conduct assessment audits of retail and supplier facilities
  • Perform validation activities to support anddrive continuous improvement of the internal food safety programs

Position Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Public Health, Microbiology or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Public or Environmental Health with an emphasis in Food Protection
  • Fluent in food safety programs: SQF, BRC, GMPs, HACCP, SSOP
  • Working to proficient knowledge of FDA Retail Food Code and 21CFR110
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong organization skills
  • Must be able to travel approximately 25%
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • SQF Certified Practitioner is a plus
  • REHS, RS, or CP-FS Certification is desired
