Brief Description

We are currently seeking a Food safety Manager-

Purpose of Position

To maintain industry leading proactive food safety management systems, processes and procedures that protects Dunkin’ Brands guests, Franchisees and brands. Support Restaurant Operations & Corporate partners with food safety and crisis events. Maintain systems that support continuous improvement while assuring design for food safety within operations, equipment, processes and procedures.

Detailed Description

Day to Day Accountabilities

1.      Analyze and assess food safety risk and apply measures and controls to mitigate risks to an acceptable level.

§  Contribute to the design of new products, restaurant layouts, equipment, processes and procedures with risk assessments, establishing food safety requirements and review and approval processes.

§  Provide regulatory guidance and support for retail & promotional merchandise.

2.      Measure, analyze and report restaurant compliance to food safety systems standards through audit and inspections; directly or by operations teams.

§  Support and maintain operations  assessment tools

§  Support improvement, corrective and preventative actions with operations  teams.

3.      Identify and maintain 3rd Party relationships and support providers, inclusive of identification, capability assessment, qualifications, performance measurement and calibration to Dunkin’ Brands standards and requirements.

4.      Provide technical and subject matter expertise as required.


5.      Regularly contribute food safety related articles and material to Brand publications.

6.      Provide support and resolution for restaurant food safety related questions, complaints and incidents.

§  Support the Major Incident Team as necessary

7.      Provide, review and maintain all food safety content in training materials, videos, courses, and brand standards documentation.

§  Conduct regional educational sessions as required.

8.    Establish & maintain relationships with local & state health departments     

Job Requirements

The qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following:


·        Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Culinary, Public Health or related field. 

·        5 or more years experience in retail food safety, regulatory, quality assurance, food safety training or related food industry experience

§  Experience in restaurant operations, equipment and design for food safety

§  Franchised QSR experience preferred

·        Nationally Recognized Food Protection Manager Certification (i.e. ServSafe, Prometric, National Registry of Food Safety Professionals)

§  Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) credential preferred

Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points, (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices, (GMP’s), Food and Drug Administration, (FDA) Model Food Code, Code of Federal Regulations, (CFR), and general microbiology.
