Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: 180 Snacks Manufacturing Facility, Anaheim, CA
Shift Worked: Mostly days, with some nights and weekends as needed
Salary: $60,000- $80,000 depending on experience/qualifications
Direct and manage all quality assurance/control
activities at 180 Snacks. This position will perform duties which support
the company’s QA/QC and operational key indicators, as well as verify all
products to ensure that Food Safety, Quality, SQF standards, and
specifications are met. Responsible for the review, verification,
validation, and sustainability of the SQF system. Works directly with
operations to schedule and control inspection activities and to enforce
requirements as specified by raw materials, ingredients, products, package
specifications and regulatory agencies. Review documentation for
completeness and accuracy. Works with research and development during new
product start-ups and establishes checkpoints for testing new products and
processes. Initiates corrective action for procedural, product or process
deficiencies, customer complaints. Responsible for analysis and
verification activities required in Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as well
as ensuring all production process control.

Essential Job Function
- Responsible for establishing,
implementing, and directing quality control and food safety efforts to
ensure that requirements for processing components and other materials
into finished goods and products conform to quality standards.
- Develop and initiate
standards and methods for inspections, testing, and evaluation.
- Establish programs to
evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing,
measurement and analyze equipment and facility.
- Optimization of product
recipes in order to improve yield and compliance with customer
- Optimization of raw material
control and use within recipes.
- Oversee SQF Level 3 (QUALITY)
and HACCP systems validating testing and assurance compliance.
- Document quality information
and prepare reports and/or manuals.
- Review production and quality
reports on a weekly basis being aware of any quality deviation.
- Follow-up on corrective
actions when quality deviation occurs.
- Support R&D on sensory
evaluation and/or product testing.
- Participate on projects for
- Oversee all customer
- Set up the quality assurance
systems for proper certification.
- Support translation of
product specifications to appropriate manufacturing documentation.
- Lead and facilitate the
facility in consumer and customer complaint resolution and reduction
- Provide the means for
incorporating the necessary tools, equipment, and methods into the new
and existing processes aimed at continuous improvement.
- Lead and support the
achievement of plant operations food safety and quality goals.
- Conduct analytical testing of
products and raw materials; sample during process and conduct QA/QC
tests; coordinate sensory analysis.
- Maintain, clean and calibrate
laboratory equipment, operating and training manuals.
- Conduct quality audits; evaluate
test data and deviations, verifies Certificate of Analysis (COA).
- Process all non-conforming
products against company established quality standards.
- Initiate and carry out
improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assist with establishment of
Standard Operating Procedures relevant to the factory.
- Prepare and maintain required
documentation of test results.
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Assist with new employee
orientation and training.
- Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent documentation,
organization and follow-up skills.
- Proven ability to handle
multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have excellent written
communication, project management and implementation skills, think
strategically, be flexible and be able to work with diverse groups in
a team environment.
- B.S. in microbiology, food
science or related field is required.
- Minimum 3 year experience in
the food industry, preferably with supervisory experience
- Familiar with Document
Creation & Control (e.g. SOP, WINS, FO, PRP)
- HACCP certified with GFSI
(SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000) experience
- Familiar with food safety
programs including HACCP (Food Safety Plan), Pre-requisite Programs
(Preventive Controls) such as GMP, Sanitation, Allergen,
Receiving/Warehousing, Traceability/Recall, Vendor Approval, Foreign
Material, Environmental Monitoring, Water Quality, Preventive
Maintenance, Internal Audit
- Must be proficient with the
Microsoft Office with skills in Microsoft Word/Excel, Power Point,
