This position utilizes existing and or emerging beverage trends to design and build new products and processes that drive business growth that meet the goals and strategies of Krispy Kreme. The Research Chef/Beverage Specialist is responsible for all global beverage projects, taking them from concept through commercial launch in collaboration with Marketing, Procurement and R&D team members.



         Support the Global Beverage Strategy Initiatives. Develops product proto-types to exceed the targeted goals of those initiatives.

         Assisting in Creating and driving the New Beverage Product Innovation pipeline, ensuring a constant flow of New Products, Platforms and Line Extensions.

         Act as internal champion for new game-changing beverage products

         Hands-on development of new beverage prototypes against required consumer, safety, regulatory, commercialization and cost parameters.

  • Scale and commercialize prototypes.
  • Source ingredients that meet Krispy Kreme specifications.

         Conducts internal product showings for cross functional teams to meet the needs of the Krispy Kremeís customer.

         Work with training and operations on recipe cards, preparation instruction and additional executional materials.

         Prepares weekly reports for the development of new products beginning at conception through successful commercialization.

  • Maintain proper documentation on product formulations, culinary specifications, processing procedures, testing evaluations, along with any other technical documents and vendor communications that allow for consistent and reliable execution in the development process.
  • Stay abreast of global food and beverage trends and products, bringing ongoing flow of new ideas and products to the innovation pipeline in alignment with business unitís strategic direction.
  • Participate in evaluation of retail shop beverage equipment needs along with operations, manufacturing services and supply chain.
  • Support day to day issue resolution.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.



         A Culinary Degree from a respected culinary institution / BS Degree in Food Science

         Minimum of 5 years experience in Product Development with at least 3 years in Beverage Product Development

         Global Beverage product development experience preferred

         Proven experience developing compelling, successful beverage product platforms

         Ability to effectively leverage a global supplier base and consistently drive innovation

         Strong knowledge of food and beverage labeling protocol, nutritional claims and food and beverage regulatory affairs

         Passion for food, beverage and culinary world

         Proficient in Microsoft Office products

         Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

         Proactive, results oriented

         Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to move multiple projects forward in a constructive and positive manner

         Exceptional attention to detail

         Customer service oriented for both internal and external partners

         Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations

         Ability to travel up to 20% both domestic and international
