Position Summary: Under limited supervision researches, conducts experiments,
gathers data, develops preliminary findings and prepares written reports for
the development of new products beginning at conception through successful
commercialization. Selects appropriate methods, tests and procedures
for testing. Develops project timelines, creates technical proposals and
reports and makes recommendations.
- Conceptualize and develop new
- New Product formulation:
Formulate new products to match the ingredient statement, nutritional
profile and product attributes of the target product. Develop and
document the process for the manufacture of the new product.
- Conduct plant trials and new
product start-ups independently
- Develop project timelines that
are acceptable to management, marketing and the R&D Manager.
- Develop finished product and
- Work closely with
Engineering/Operations to source equipment required for new product
manufacture. Provide operations and engineering with process procedures.
- BS in Food Science or related
field required. MS preferred
- Minimum 3 years
- Experience in Product
Development in a Food Company required
- Proven ability to handle
multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- May travel up to 40% of
time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible
ConAgra Foods, Inc. representative.
- Use of tools, equipment, and
- Walking, standing, or sitting
for extended periods of time
- Walking and/or standing on
various surface types
- Lifting (note approximate
weight and frequency, e.g. ability to lift 25 lbs
on a regular basis, ability to lift up to 50 lbs
on a sporadic basis)
- Climbing to various heights via
stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
- Cramped/confined space
- Exposure to manufacturing
environments for periodic extended work days to include: loud
noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions.
- Dirt, fumes, smoke
- Frequent bending and/or
crawling; must be able to move safely and freely around machinery
- Driving a company or rental
vehicle for up to XX hours as needed
