The food safety manager will lead our food safety efforts ensuring that our customers can always enjoy our products with full confidence and satisfaction.



         Serve as the Food Safety and Quality leader in the organization. Ensure that the company is compliant with all regulations and that the company is working to continually improve its practices.

         Develop and maintain the HACCP Program as the HACCP Team Leader.

         Lead HACCP, SQF, Organic, Gluten- Free and Kosher certification and regulatory compliance.

         Implement, maintain and review, standard operating procedures (SOPís) and sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPís) and protocols.

         Champion the education and training of personnel on all food safety practices and standards including Employee Training of GMPs, Food Defense, Sanitation, Allergen controls and Food Borne Illnesses.

         Work with the management team to implement and improve the food safety quality system. Provide guidance on best practices through the entire supply chain and through delivery to the customer.

         Manage document control to ensure accuracy of all policies and procedures. Ensure compliance, and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities.

         Create and monitor business metrics to track compliance and process effectiveness.  Execute internal and external food safety audits.

         Leverage technology to manage compliance processes.

         Lead root cause analyses and corrective action plans for all quality and customer complaint issues.

         Participate in the development and maintenance of Batch Records as needed.

         In partnership with sanitation teams, provides coaching and guidance to the environmental monitoring program.

         Maintain current knowledge of trends and changes affecting food safety to make recommendations for appropriate program changes to ensure governmental compliance.

         Incorporate Food Safety industry best practice into product handling processes for receipt, storage, transportation and disposal of food.

         Support each department through application of corrective and preventative actions, training and a continuous improvement process.



         5+ years of experience managing Food Safety in a Manufacturing or food packaging environment.

         Strong working knowledge of US food manufacturing including Food GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, SQF, FSMA readiness and compliance, auditing and inspections as well as environmental guidelines.

         Food Safety Program leadership experience working in facility certified at SQF 2 or SQF 3. You must have led an organization through a level 2 SQF audit.

         We prefer that you have previously developed, implemented, and documented a program to achieve a SQF certification for an organization did not previously have an SQF certification.

         Bachelorís Degree in food science, Microbiology or food process engineering is a plus.

         Auditing and product recall experience is a plus.

         Strong understanding of NSF Standards and sanitary design requirements for food equipment.

         Experience interacting with the local Department of Health and other state and federal regulatory agencies.

         Exceptional organizational skills. Works with precision.

         Strong ability to handle complexity and judgment in order to quickly problem solve and make judicious decisions regarding product quality and safety.
