The Sanitation Manager is accountable for the plantís sanitation and responsible for ensuring weíre meeting our high SQF Certification standards through proper execution of the sanitation process. Boston Salads is a successful, growing company. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to make a major contribution in our Sanitation Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of design, implementation, enhancement, monitoring and continuous improvement of sanitation and pest elimination methods and programs.
  • Assist with the development of programs and training focusing on sanitation; optimize sanitation SSOPís to achieve a high level of effectiveness and efficiency as well as a lower environmental impact
  • Monitor adherence to sanitation programs and procedures by conducting annual audits of the SSOPís; coordinate and prepare the plant to be audit-ready every day
  • Conduct inspections (GMP, Safety, Food Safety,) and validation verification using scientific methods such as PC and ATP for analysis
  • Plan cleaning schedules and allocation of resources (labor, supplies, equipment and time)
  • Ensure cleaning procedures are maintained and updated; conduct plant wide and departmental mandated training
  • Ensure Quality and Sanitation inventory levels are managed to meet targets
  • Supervise staff

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sanitary Science, Public Health and/or Environmental health preferred
  • Experience with sanitary design standards; HACCP training
  • Sanitation experience in a food processing facility
  • Understanding of food allergens
  • Certified in Pesticide application; Knowledge of chemical usage and safety
  • Knowledge of both wet and dry cleaning techniques
  • Understanding of general industrial safety requirements
  • Understanding of hygienic zoning and associated controls
  • Supervisory experience; proven ability to effectively manage people.
  • Effective communication skills and strong problem solving ability
  • Ability to speak Portuguese or Spanish a plus
