Product Development Coordinator

The Job –

The Product Development Coordinator will report to the Vice President, Technical Services and will support both product development projects, as well as quality control processes and troubleshooting. The focus area is our formulas and ingredients (not packaging) so there is natural crossover in supporting quality issues and product development.

The Responsibilities-

Product Development Projects – Formulas and Ingredients

  • Coordinate project plans, timelines and tasks between Zevia, bottlers and suppliers;
  • Coordinate internal evaluations of beverages using company process;
  • Manage process improvements related to product development;
  • Develop strong and productive relationships with existing and potential supplier partners;
  • Report on project progress; and,
  • Attend productions at bottlers for new formulas or other key product or ingredient changes.

Quality Control / Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of Quality activities;
  • Support investigations of specific issues or consumer complaints, using the “IssueTrak” system;
  • Help improve the IssueTrak process;
  • Write and develop quality-related procedures as needed;
  • Support product and bottler launches;
  • Monitor active corrective action plans for timeliness and accuracy;
  • Perform product analysis as the HQ Technical Services lab associate; and,
  • Assist in development of improvement strategies for quality and reliability objectives.

  • Familiar with compliance record keeping.

The Desired Skills and Experience -

  • Food Science education background
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in similar capacity
  • Hands on experience with Operations or Mechanical processes a plus
  • Food, beverage or similar industry experience a plus
  • Proficient computer skills, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Provided back up support for other roles as necessary
  • Strong with MS Project
  • Excellent listener – delivers on the requested deliverable correctly the first time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – will need to collaborate up, down and across the organization to achieve results
  • Calm under pressure
  • Ensures quality of output
  • Good deductive reasoning
  • Must have good organizations skills

  • Encino, CA

Other:

  • Salary & Benefits commensurate with experience.
  • No relocation to Los Angeles, CA
