Supervisor: Operations Manager
Summary: Sanitation Team Leader position is directly responsible for overall plant sanitation and ensures the quality of product and services provided by the company.† This position is responsible for working with the QA Manager and the quality staff on key programs such as third party audits, regulatory audits, customer audits, departmental goals and objectives (KPIís), keeps current with sanitation and key performance indicators, ensures continuity of key programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
∑ Responsible for verifying components of GFSI programs comply with current Safe Quality Food code requirements as directed by the SQF Practitioner.
∑ Oversee the FIT (Facility Inspection Team) Team, report findings on weekly and monthly bases to management team and trend findings to improve overall program.
∑ Reviews CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action) program for effectiveness to eliminate recurring non-conformances.
∑ Responsible for coordinating employee sanitation work schedules.†
∑ Performs other duties including but not limited to investigating customer complaints, completing various reports assigned by plant management.
∑ Participates in Quality Department training and support operational training.
∑ Document and verify Sanitation SSOP procedures and programs.
∑ Support Food Safety, PCO and Environmental Programs.
∑ Participate in plant safety Programs.
Minimum Job Requirements:
∑ Must have a valid driverís license
∑ Bachelorís degree preferred in a science field, preferably food science and or applicable experience in the food industry.
∑ Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
∑ Prefer experience in bakery/dry mixing (dry blending, frozen dough and baked goods) production environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
∑ Excellent communication and coaching skills
∑ Detail oriented and organized
∑ Strong background in sanitation principles and practices
∑ Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products and processes
∑ Self-motivated, results orientated and excellent personal skills
∑ Strong background in HAACP; Food Safety; cGMP; AIB, FSMA and SPC
∑ Must have a hands-on work ethic
∑ Self-starter and ability to work independently
∑ Good organizational skills
∑ Proficient skills with Microsoft Office applications ( Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
∑ Clear and concise writing skills
∑ Ability to implement, review, train and update plant Standard Operation Procedure (SOPís)
∑ Coordinates daily activities for the Sanitation team.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
∑ Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, cold temperatures and/or noise.
∑ Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
∑ Position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, sitting frequently at a desk, walking around the office and plant; carrying packages up to 75 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; reaching and kneeling on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see, hear and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
∑ Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther & Son, Inc. will be provided.

∑ Ensure the Quality and Food Safety of product manufactured.
∑ Keeps current with key sanitation programs and department operation by working closely with the Quality manager.†
∑ Performs other duties including but not limited to handling; completing various reports by maintaining bill of materials, the corporate specification system, completing weekly and monthly reports as assigned by the QA Manager
