Position Summary:
Ensure that Nutricia North America has in place end to end Quality systems and processes to deliver sustainably products and services that meet the daily quality and Food safety needs and expectations of patients, customers and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:


1.  Develop, implement & govern the Quality Management System at the Country Business Unit (CBU).

·         Within the frame of the Danone Quality Policy as well as Danone Medical Nutrition (DMN) Quality strategy & Quality business plan, develop and implement a NNA Quality strategy and Quality Management System

·         Define & implement a Quality Business Plan and relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and report performance and implement corrective measure where required

·         Ensure cascading  and implementation of DMN quality  requirements into local processes & Systems (e.g. change control; label management; innovation)

·         Ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory requirement

·         Ensure quality input into innovation, maintenance and performance improvement pipeline

2.  Support manufacturing sites (under the scope of the CBU) to develop & implement a Quality Management System

·         Ensure & support implementation of Quality Organization and related job profiles

·         Support development and implementation of a Quality Management System

·         Support the development & implementation of a QBP and relevant KPI´s, review and report performance and implement corrective measure where required

·         Support the implementation of DMN quality requirements  - from farm to fork (quality integration & upgrade project)

3.  Support 3rd parties and subcontracted activities to implement and drive a Quality Management System

·         Ensure quality of products and services in accordance to agreed specifications

·         Qualification of 3rd parties in line with Danone Suppliers Qualification Processes

·         Draft, sign and maintain Quality Contracts (specs, food safety visas) to ensure written compliance to DMN standards

·         Review, improve and govern 3rd parties quality performance via KPI´s, complaints, label claim monitoring, audits results

·         Investigation support and corrective action implementation

·         Ensure quality input into innovation, maintenance and performance improvement pipeline

4.  Strengthen the quality organization and drive the quality ambition, particularly “right first time” across CBU, SP & 3rd parties, establishing a quality mind set at all levels of the organization

5.  Draft & drive training activities that lead to product & service improvement via personnel motivation and awareness

6.  Lead crisis management as Business Unit Crisis Manager

7.  Actively participate in the DMN CBU quality network and contribute for best practice sharing and continuous improvement

8.  Implement, monitor and drive consumer and customer feedback management systems in order to highlight deviations, and enhance improvements

Working conditions:

Office, plant and warehouse environments.

The job will require domestic travel (50%) and International Travel 5%. Occasional weekend travel and work required for audits and quality inspections.

There is some lifting of products not to exceed 30 lbs.

Minimum qualifications:

·         5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance

·         5+ years of experience in Quality Food Safety

·         5+ years of experience in setting up/maintaining a Quality Management System

·         Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject (for example food chemistry, food technology, biology, engineering or chemistry)

Success factors:

·         Able to implement a Quality Road Map for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution

·         Able to implement and maintain quality insurance and risk based on company safety programs and local legislations

·         Demonstrate good knowledge of manufacturing principles to handle micro and analytical test results

·         Drive change with the 3rd party to develop and implement a quality roadmap

·         Ability to manage a crisis if quality issues arise

·         Ability to prepare, conduct and analyze quality audits and implement action plans
