Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: Director of Operations

J&G FOODS, INC is seeking an experienced and talented Quality Assurance Manager for its Sutton, Massachusetts manufacturing plant. The company produces portion controlled, ready-to-cook proteins mainly for retail customers. The operation employs more than 150 associates.

General responsibilities: This position is responsible for managing the quality, food safety and regulatory compliance for the facility.
Key responsibilities of this position are:
" The clear communication of food safety and quality objectives to all associates.
" Associates training in GMPs, HACCP, allergen control and other food safety requirements.
" Leads and manages plant HACCP and food safety teams.
" Manages customer and regulatory agency audits.
" Monitors and adheres to Quality Assurance budget.
" Maintains GFSI site certification (SQF).
" Tracks quality metrics.
" Uses problem solving skills to determine corrective actions for quality/regulatory issues.
" Adapts to changing organizational and operational changes; ability to lead others through change.
" Strong team player and leader with supportive and collegial approaches.
" Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a strong team.
" Strong organizational skills, especially with regards to required quality documentation.
" Displays a strong degree of business ethics.
" Strong sanitation knowledge.
" Strong manager in the areas of planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating

Education/Experience:
" Bachelor's Degree in science or related field.
" Minimum of five years in food, managing quality related functions. Meat industry a plus.
" Strong computer skills ( Microsoft Office or similar ).
" Excellent communication skills.
" Strong time management and planning skills.
" Certified SQF and HACCP preferred.
