Brief Description

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for quality assurance activities that support all aspects of food safety, quality and compliance to the Dunkiní Brands quality management system standards, requirements and specifications.


Detailed Description


Day to Day Accountabilities:

∑         Respond to complaints and concerns, process issues, follow up on cases, communicate directly with franchisees

∑         Validation of incidents and performance using scientific and quality assurance theory, practice and tools.

∑         Maintain quality systems, laboratory services in support of the QA Managers

∑         Accountable for the administration, shipment and receipt of product samples.††

∑         Responsible for the maintenance and organization of lab and storage areas. Conduct and/or coordinate product performance evaluation, measurement, and analysis.

∑         Audit key international suppliers and manage corrective action requirements within agreed time-bound plans

∑         Support management of, requests for, and organization of supplier-related documentation, for new supplier approval process, risk assessment, ongoing updates, and other related items.

∑         Assess suppliers/CMLs/Cake Decoration Plants/warehouses/DCís and/or restaurant processes & facilities against defined standards.

∑         Lead QA product evaluations and panels for the QA Manager with key suppliers and internal cross functional teams.

∑         Calibrate laboratory process and equipment to assure accuracy and adherence to Dunkiní Brands standards, requirements and specifications.

∑         Supervise, administer, review, and maintain quality databases, data, specifications, formula information, labels, and related supporting documentation; and create quality performance or other reports as needed.

∑         Maintain records and files in accordance with quality systems requirement and quality teamís needs.

  1. Participate in new project initiation by gathering and processing project data and requirements and by providing input on project progress and meeting its timelines.
  2. Utilize project management tools and disciplines to complete project assignments and meet deadlines.
  3. Help identify and resolve projectĖrelated risks and issues.
  4. Participate in the evaluation of the project by giving input for post-project evaluations and lessons learned.

Job Requirements


∑         Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related field.

∑         At least 2-4 year experience in quality assurance or related food industry is preferred including supplier auditing and approval on the basis of specification capability assessment.

∑         2-4 yearsí experience of practical application of food safety principles, FDA Food Code and Code of Federal Regulations.

∑         Experience with implementing food safety and quality management systems

∑         Proficient to the Quality Managerís satisfaction in all analytical techniques required for the verification of product compliance to performance and technical specifications.

∑         Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPís), ISO and GFSI Standards, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Model Food Code and FSMA, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Statistical Process Control and general food microbiology. Knowledge of international equivalent/related standards, and/or import/export experience, is a plus.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Position is mostly performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. The position includes sitting and standing for extended periods of time and working on a computer for minimum of 50% of the time. Approximately 10-25% travel will be required in support of the positionís responsibilities, which include a moderate level of international travel and involve overnight stays, requiring airplane travel, and occasionally involving a weekend travel day.


Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of materials for lab analysis or performance testing. Frequent and regular computer work on a daily basis, minimum of 2 hours per day. Ability to crawl under machinery, climb heights and fit into space restricted areas. Lab work requiring use of technical instruments and repetitive measurements.Production environments may involve manufacturing, process or storage areas with extreme heat, cold, or moisture levels.
