Job Description

The FSQA VP is a highly effective food safety and quality professional focused on assuring that all foods meet regulatory and ARYZTA and customer requirements for food safety and quality. The VP is a leader within ARYZTA and externally with customers and regulatory agencies. They are responsible for developing and implementing food safety and quality assurance programs and ensuring operations is in compliance with best practices for food safety and quality. The FSQA VP reports to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Food Safety & Quality Assurance. The FSQA VP provides leadership directly to their team (exempt and/or non-exempt) and indirectly to other leaders in Operations, Innovation, and Commercialization.

Required Skills

    Leads an exceptional team of food safety and quality professionals

    Leads team in developing corporate food safety and quality assurance policies including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Quality Management System (QMS) and creating improvement strategies to the business

    Interfaces with major customers to preserve and enhance the image of the company as a competent supplier of quality foods exceeding their expectations

    Maintain awareness of industry advances and technologies to assure that customers have the benefit of the latest the industry has to offer with regards to food safety, sanitary design of equipment, and product quality

    Responsible for the selection, motivation and development of FSQA personnel to ensure all positions are effectively staffed and future management is developed.  Reviews progress with Human Resources on an ongoing basis. Identifies promotable personnel and assures necessary and desirable training. Conducts timely formal annual performance evaluations for all direct reports, in addition to recommending developmental training

    Other duties may be assigned and FSQA VP is expected to effectively manage and execute changes

Required Experience

    Excellent leadership, customer and internal communication, negotiation, and team building skills

    Be a change agent for setting industry leading food safety programs

    Be able to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines

    B.S. in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline

    15+ years food industry experience and must have food safety experience with new foods

    Trained in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard (BRC, SQF) and HACCP

    Good writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills
