Job Description

DuPont has a rich history of scientific discovery that has enabled countless innovations and today, we're looking for more people, in more places, to collaborate with us to make life the best that it can be.   As part of our dairy team you will be responsible for technical customer service primarily in North America, and you will work mainly with starter cultures, coagulants, antimicrobials and textural ingredients in all kinds of cheese applications including natural cheese, processed cheese, and cottage cheese.

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

         Leading customer projects including technical support for all cheese applications

         Being an active part in the account development plan for key customers

         Assist customers by participating in in-house visits, answering technical questions and conducting seminars and presentations as assigned

         May develop or assist with development of new product and application literature, including Technical Papers, invention disclosures and patents

         Keep up-to-date on trends, new technical developments and competitorís activities by monitoring applications for processing systems and ingredients in applicable areas

         Set up, conduct and correlate a variety of basic specific tests and experiments

         Maintain appropriate documentation for experiments. Maintain an understanding of DuPontís quality and environmental policies and procedures

This position operates in a laboratory/pilot plant environment and may require outside travel up to 50% of the time.  This position may also require heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and working with hazardous materials.

Job Qualifications

Educational background :

To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must possess a minimum four year Biological, Chemical or Food Science or related degree and experience typically gained through 8-10 years in the cheese industry.  Incumbents without a degree will be considered if they possess a minimum of 10-15 years cheese processing experience. 

         Have practical skills with understanding of scientific and product manufacturing equipment

         Cheese processing experience or related field, i.e. cultures for cheese, etc.

         Good understanding of various cheese processes

         Foster and enjoy working in teams

         Clearly communicate activities and technical results to peers and customers

         Be flexible to changing priorities, demonstrates self-management, strong initiative

         Demonstrate ability to work to deadlines, both short and long term

         To be skilled in data analysis and results interpretation

         Ability to communicate at all levels within our customer scope
