Job Descriptions:
The Regional Quality Assurance Manager, Restaurant Food Safety is responsible for managing restaurant food safety programs to provide support and guidance to company and franchise restaurants and operations management in the areas of food safety and sanitation. This role will be required to improve and drive CKE food safety culture.

Required Experience:
May perform any or all of the following duties:
Works with CKE’s third party auditing partner and food safety/QA team to ensure consistency among audits

Acts as CKE’s advocate during interaction with regulatory agencies and industry food safety groups (i.e. health department, DOA, FDA, CFP)

Focuses on continuously improving and strengthening food safety at CKE by collaborating with internal teams and external resources

Monitors FS/QA audits for consistency and collaborates with third party auditing partner to reconcile disputes and calibration issues

Maintains and reviews food safety and sanitation trends at the restaurant and regional level to provide support and implement process improvements

Partners with operations teams to support bottom performing restaurants and provides field guidance to remedy non-compliance (food safety training, corrective actions plans, etc.)

Provides periodic reporting on key food safety and sanitation indicators including pest management, FS/QA audit, health department reports, etc.

Provides Operations with Field support to educate operators on CKE Food Safety Standards

Assists with the development and implementation of food safety materials

Assists with annual Program Review to verify compliance with regulatory and company standards

Makes recommendations for continuous improvements and benchmarking

Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements


Must possess approximately six (6) years of any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of Restaurant Industry quality assurance

BA/BS Degree preferred with technical background in Environmental Health, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or food safety related courses

Registered CP-FS or Registered Sanitarian preferred

Must have knowledge of HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, FDA and all other applicable State and local health and food safety codes and principles behind these requirements affecting restaurants

Must have 5+ years of restaurant food safety, restaurant health inspection or restaurant food auditing experience

Must have strong applied knowledge of restaurant food safety and competent knowledge of current food safety practices

Must have knowledge of restaurant operations from a food safety perspective

Must be able to investigate food safety and quality complaints
