POSITION TITLE:

Food Science and Nutrition Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY : Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, this position is generally responsible for developing and maintaining nutritional information for FCH Enterprises, Inc.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

 

 

 

 

 

         Utilize the ESHA Genesis R&D Software program to determine nutritional and calorie information.

         Develop and maintain ingredient and recipe data bases for nutritional calculation.

         Build and maintain files (electronic and manual) for all products made by the divisions of FCH Enterprises, Inc.

         When necessary, contact manufacturers for related information.

         Utilizes professional record keeping skills to document necessary data and analysis.

         Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

Scheduling:

 

 

         Monday through Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, may be asked to work later if needed .

 

 

Physical Ability:

 

 

         Able to sit for 5-8 hours a day.

         Able to lift at least 30-50 lbs.

 

 

Mental Ability:

 

         Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as volumetric calculations, conversions, etc.

         Ability to apply common sense and sound judgment

         Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

         Ability to comprehend and apply information from official governmental guidelines, documents, and resources.

 

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

 

 

         Pass a tuberculosis (TB) skin test within 5 years of start date.

         Pass drug screening test.

 

 

Environmental Conditions:

 

 

         Production kitchen and/or laboratory and office environment.

 

 

Education:

 

 

         Food Science and Human Nutrition knowledge/background

         Knowledge of FDA food labeling guidelines

         HACCP certified

 

 

Experience:

 

 

         Minimum 2 years in related work desired.

         Experience with USDA Plant Manufacturing Guidelines.

         Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format

         Ability to explain research findings in laymanís terms

         Ability to work independently

         Is proficient in basic computer use, software programs, etc.

         Proficient in record keeping
