QA Support Analyst

Job Description:

Position Summary:

Assist QA management team to ensure regulatory compliance. You are responsible for ensuring all food safety and quality protocols are followed.

Essential Functions:
•Assist with reviewing and signing production records according to FDA/USDA regulations for low acid and acidified foods.
•Communicate any non-compliance to QA management team.
•Support the writing and submission of process filings for low acid and acidified foods.
•Collect all necessary documents for deviation filing.
•Update all compliance forms for both aseptic and recart operations.
•Responsible for maintaining plant calibration records.
•Assist in maintaining and organizing paper and electronic records as required.
•Support internal and external auditing (SQF) as required.
•Provide annual/new employee GMP/Food safety training
•Manage Alchemy training system
•Assist with sanitation and sanitation crew

Secondary Functions:

•Provide backup to QA technicians and QA Document Analyst for both aseptic and recart.
•Assist with heat penetration (HP) testing at plant level.

•Other duties as assigned

•Conduct testing on new or existing products; for example, specific gravity and viscosity.
•Assist and participate in sensory testing.

This position is not supervisory in nature

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

•Maintain professional and positive attitude at all times.
•Possess strong technical knowledge in areas of responsibility and have thorough understanding and knowledge of all department functions and the production process from R&D through QA and the Warehouse.
•Ability to multi-task and strong organizational, prioritization and problem analysis skills
•Possess strong computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook programs proficiently.
•Attention to details
•Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with solid basic math skills.
•Mental activities involve the reading, writing, speaking and understanding of the English language, interpersonal skills, teamwork, the use of discretion, independent judgment and problem analysis.
•Physical activities required in this position include the continuous fingering, keyboarding, talking, repetitive motions of the hands/wrists, sitting, grasping, hearing and handling. Occasional standing, walking, and ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Food Science, Quality Assurance or related field. Require two year of relevant experience, preferably in a food manufacturing setting. Years of experience in lieu of degree.
