Quality Assurance - Food Quality & Safety Manager

Local company is opening operations in Aurora in August 2014. Preparation of read to eat meals for a large retailer. Production hours start between 11pm and midnight and end between 8am and 10am depending on the shift.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all “Good Manufacturing Processes” in a food processing environment
  • Manage processes that meet corporate and customer quality assurance requirements
  • Ensure SQF, FDA and USDA standards requirements are documented and compliance is maintained
  • Prepares reports on inspections, compliance attainment and corrective actions
  • Conduct training with employees to transfer knowledge of their requirements for QA compliance
  • Ensure HACCP standards are followed and documentation compliance is verified
  • Monitor processing procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Prepare monthly quality assurance reports
  • Analyze and interpret numerical data and perform basic financial analysis.
  • Facilitate uniform quality standards for food safety.
  • Ensure sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility via periodic audits.


  • Minimum of a B.A./B.S. degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior Food Service/production experience required
  • A minimum of 1- year supervising a Food Quality & Safety function
  • Prefer candidates with USDA and Seafood HACCP Certified
  • Knowledge of Food Industry quality and sanitation standards and requirements
  • Candidate bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Excel
