Cargill Value Added Meats has an opportunity for a Food Safety/ Quality / Regulatory Superintendent, located in Fort Worth, Texas. This role supervises, trains and develops direct reports and also leads food safety and quality improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for maintaining and auditing plantís HACCP, food safety management systems and regulatory programs. In the absence of the FSQR Manager, this position will act as liaison between USDA.

 

This role also requires a high degree of collaboration with Maintenance/Engineering, Operations, and Human Resources to effectively serve our customers, stakeholders, community and the overall corporation:

 

         Customer: to ensure all products meet quality and food safety requirements.

          

         Stakeholders: to engage the workforce to create a culture focused on food safety and accountability, and to ensure an inclusive environment where people are developed and careers can be fulfilled

          

         Community: to operate as a good corporate citizen through community involvement and giving, and environmental leadership

          

40%††† Food Safety: Champion food safety processes, food safety culture.

Responsible for facility HACCP, lead food safety team and lead

customer and 3rd party audits.

30%††† Team Leadership: Lead coach and develop FSQR supervisors.

Effectively collaborate with operations on continuous improvement

projects.

15%††† Customer Focus: Assist with customer contacts and visits, assist

facility with customer complaint investigation and implementation of

corrective actions.

15%††† Specification: Ensure that product specifications are up-to-date and are

adhere to during production. Assist with new product development

through data collection of product performance tests and assist with

new process development

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

         Minimum 3 years experience in Quality, Food Safety, Auditing, Operations, etc.

         Capable to provide leadership/motivation to engage employees in the business.

         Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

         Strong listening/communication (verbal and written) Ė ability to get message across to a variety of audiences.

         Ability to lead by holding self and other accountable; delivers on commitments.

         Demonstrated team building and conflict resolution skills. Ability to drive innovation and change within the workforce.

         Strong knowledge of USDA regulations.

         Bachelorís degree in Science field (preferably Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or Biochemistry)

         Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience

Preferred Qualifications

         Experience working with key customers

         Food microbiology experience

         Meat processing and / or beef patty production experience.

         Plant Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations

         Knowledge of Quality Standards & Quality Tools - Applies knowledge of quality standards and tools to enhance food safety and quality
