Quality Assurance Manager

Position Description:

This function is to manage quality activities throughout the plant to ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, and company rules and regulations. Additionally, this position is to plan, coordinates and implements quality assurance programs at the plant and endures continuous production consistent with standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

Implement all QA programs to ensure compliance with company internal requirements, and external, governmental-Canada & USA, as well as customer requirements and expectations both domestic and export.

Monitor and implement the USDA guidelines and HACCP plan

Direct contact with USDA food inspector and respond any requirements within timely manner

Audits the plant for compliance with USDA regulations and review for compliance with GMP's

Inspection of production floor including HACCP and quality checks are performed

Providing samples of standard or custom products, and working with customers to standardize test methods

Review food safety documentation such as Shipping and Receiving documentations, equipment calibrations documentation, maintenance for food safety forms

Organize customer and retained sampling program

Oversees lab operational activities daily equipment maintenance, ordering stock control, stock record entry, reporting, document control, etc

Review of QA books: Pest control, Hold, Receiving, etc

Complete all reports for company management, vendors, and customers as required in a timely manner

Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the Laboratory and office area


BS Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food science

Experience in testing, Quality Analysis in QA Department

Experience in testing instrument, maintenance or troubleshooting

Minimum of 3 years management experience in Quality, R&D, or other relevant operations

Strong understanding of applicable regulations, food safety standards in accordance with USDA regulatory

Strong verbal and written communication skills


Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation processes

Advanced knowledge for Microsoft Access database

Bilingual skills (Spanish or Japanese) plus
