Brief Description

Purpose of Position:


The position actively innovates and develops products / concepts to move through the innovation to market testing pipeline, delivering ?Best in Class? products to our franchisees and guests.  Builds and develops relationships with R&D team members and cross functional members to deliver highest quality products meeting goals and strategies of Dunkin Brands.


Day to Day Accountabilities:


·         Creates gold standard innovative products, line extensions and platforms that feed the product testing pipeline for both Domestic and International markets.

·         Maintain proper documentation on product formulations, culinary specifications, processing procedures, testing evaluations, other technical documents and any supplier communications that allow for consistent and reliable execution in development and day to day functions. 

·         Creates and fosters effective relationships with R&D, cross-functional team members and suppliers.

·         Follow and analyze trends / competitive landscape to initiate creation of new savory concepts. 

·         Participate in all team activities; culinary innovation, product reviews, tastings, competitive analysis and leadership events.

·         Support in the preparation of new products for tastings with marketing, executives, Franchisee Committees and Field Teams.  Participate in all team events, projects and programs.

·         Maintain proper lab conditions and equipment maintenance.




Project Accountabilities:


Project Team Member

  1. Participate in the initiation and planning phases by gathering project data and requirements and providing input on project activities and timing.
  2. Utilize project management tools and disciplines to complete project assignments and meet deadlines.
  3. Help identify and resolve project?related risks and issues.
  4. Participate in the evaluation of the project by giving input for post-project evaluations and lessons learned.


Connectivity and Key Interfaces:


Shares product information with vendors and customer and provides information to departments and franchisees as product expert (e.g., shares information on how testing was done to determine product shelf life, shares lab results of a product evaluation.



Detailed Description



·         Culinary Arts degree: formal education in food science, culinary arts, or related studies preferred.

·         2-4 years? experience in R&D, food manufacturing, or QSR operations required

·         Certification in food sanitation.


Key Competencies:


·         Preparation of product samples using defined processes

·         Experience in product and process testing and troubleshooting.

·         Computer literate

·         Communication skills ? verbal and written.

·         Planning and scheduling
