Red Star Yeast Company LLC (RSYC), a leader in the Yeast Manufacturing Industry, is now accepting resumes for a Laboratory Supervisor at our Cedar Rapids, IA location! RSYC is a joint venture between Lesaffre Yeast Corporation and ADM, and is proud to have a state of the art facility that opened its doors in 2005. The Laboratory Supervisor for RSYC will report directly to the Laboratory Manager and be primarily responsible for the daily training, organization, supervision and management of laboratory staff. 

Requirements: Required Skills & Experience: *

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferred degree are in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or similar field. *
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in similar supervisory role *
  • Strong background in Microbiology and Chemistry analytical methods *
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel *
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and excellent communication skills (oral and written) *
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask with great attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience: *

  • Experience with HPLC, ICP, and LECO Nitrogen Analyzers *
  • Laboratory experience in a food manufacturing environment *
  • Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and/or and ERP systems
