Lucks Food Decorating Company is a world-class US manufacturer of edible food decorations for cakes and confections. We manufacture and distribute high-quality, innovative, time-saving products, such as Edible Image® decorations and Dec-Ons® molded sugar decorations.

General responsibilities include:

  • R&D bench work – formulation of new products; improvements to existing products
  • Member of Food Defense Team, understand Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and GFSI standards
  • Assist in investigation of customer complaints and assist in decisions for disposition of product
  • Point person for Foreign Material reports and follow-up with corrective actions as necessary
  • Assist Director with customer audits
  • Participate as a team member at monthly Plant QA-Production Meetings and other meetings as needed
  • Evaluation of new packaging and/or new suppliers
  • Monitor lab database and statistical process control programs
  • Trouble shooting when errors in production occur and determining disposition of product (rework, hold, etc.)
  • Assist with microbiological testing of finished product, raw materials, and environmental swabs
  • Shelf-life testing
  • Assure that GMP’s are followed by production employees and Company policies are followed
  • Develop specifications for finished goods, raw materials and packaging

Working knowledge of:

  • Weekly inspections of pest control devices
  • Pest Control - ensure that all required paperwork is in order, generate monthly reports
  • Daily, weekly and monthly inspections of processing facility per company’s SOPs and SSOPs
  • Monitor metal detectors and documentation of CCP’s
  • Monitor packaging, code dating, and labeling on product lines
  • Monitor the all packaging lines for product attributes and packaging specifications
  • Daily QA production and line checks; daily pre-op inspections
  • Coordinate monthly inspections by key employees as part of self-inspection program
  • Coordinate laboratory instrument calibration services with outside vendors
  • Conduct testing of raw materials & finished products per company’s specifications
