Corporate Quality Assurance Manager
The Corporate Quality Assurance Manager will oversee and assure compliance
with Company and Government product quality and HACCP food safety standards
by establishing specifications, plans, practices, and procedures at all
steps of Company processing activities for all UniSea
Inc. operations. Assist the Environmental Compliance Department with
adhering to government standards and communication to those governmental
Develop and maintain in written form product specifications, processing
procedures, quality control plans, inspection standards and procedures,
monitoring report systems, sanitation rules and policies and procedures for
implementing air quality and water quality permits. Regularly review and
adjust activities and reports as required.
- Develop maintain and review
in written form HACCP Plans for all products, including CCP monitoring
and reporting procedures, pre-requisite processing and quality control
programs along with sanitation control procedures. Conduct reviews, verifications
and audits as required.
- Train quality control
employees, providing them with knowledge of and reasons for both HACCP
and quality standards while instructing them in the technical
procedures and practices of testing and inspecting for adherence to
quality standards and permit to conditions.
- Oversee Redmond Quality
Control Department keeping abreast of regulatory and facility changes
to ensure timely action on the part of the company to maintain
compliance at a reasonable cost. Supervise the employees in this areas
effectively recommend hiring; conduct evaluations, support promotions
- Responsible for evaluation of
product quality and product safety levels with analysis of reasons for
defective product resulting in development of solutions to problems
and methods for improvement in quality and or safety enhancements.
- Develop and maintain the
Company’s consumer complaint and response program; coordinating
investigations of both quality and safety complaints with the
appropriate plant personnel.
- Develop and maintain in
written form, and implement if necessary, the corporate “Crisis
Management Product Recall Plan”. Serve as the primary contact with
FDA, our insurance broker or other food regulatory agencies in matters
related to product recalls or market withdrawals.
- Effectively plan, prepare,
and administer the Corporate Quality Control and the Environmental
Compliance department’s annual budget.
- Represent the Company in
regular and frequent contacts with representatives of the regulatory
agencies such as FDA, ADEC, EPA and USDC and obtain and maintain the
necessary permits from these agencies. Also represent the Company in
regular and frequent contacts with industry technical/trade groups
such as NFI, ASPAC, NFPA and PSPA.
- Position requires some travel
to Alaska for one to several weeks at a time. Position may require
some travel to major customers, with Marketing & Sales personnel,
to provide technical support of sales.
Education: Four-year Bachelor's degree with course emphasis related to
technology. Food science and/or biological science background preferred.
Four to six years of experience in food industry as a supervisor.
