Labatt Food Service - San Antonio, TX
successful candidate will plan, coordinate and manage the Quality Assurance
and Food Safety Program at Direct Source Meats, which is a further
processor of beef, pork, and poultry products for food service customers.
The positionís main emphasis will be on establishing and implementing food
safety and HACCP programs, as well as maintaining measurements to assure
finished products meet or exceed company, customer, and industry standards.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
-Manage HACCP, Food Defense, Pest Control,
Housekeeping, GMP, Pre-Op, Product Traceability, & Microbial Testing
-Act as company liaison with USDA
-Investigate all quality complaints, document, and
implement both corrective and preventative actions
-Communicate with operations management and purchasing
regarding product quality deviations, product dispositions, and supplier
-Aid in R&D projects with quality issues
-B.S. in Meat/Food Science or related area of study
(or) a minimum of 4 years working within the meat industry (emphasis
-Basic knowledge of Meat Industry Regulations
(USDA-FSIS, SSOP, HACCP, GMPís) and food microbiology. HACCP Certification
preferred, but not initially required
-Excellent verbal & written communication skills,
basic math functions & computer skills
-Ability to work in both an office & production
environment with climate extremes
