We’re not looking for an ordinary Food Scientist because this isn’t an ordinary company.

We are fusing the culinary and food science worlds in order to make game changing snack products that are nutritious and actually taste great. Our clients come to us because we can take the inkling of an idea and give them something unbelievable to taste in days or weeks not years.

If it’s not healthy, if it’s not delicious, if it’s not sustainable…we’re not interested.

We know that there are no problems without solutions. Dedication and work will always overcome the most difficult roadblocks. We are looking for someone that shares our passion for food and for giving consumers better choices when they walk down the aisle of the grocery store.

The ideal candidate is a flexible multi-tasker that welcomes challenges and a fast-paced environment. New and exciting projects are always coming through the door, so you need to be on your toes and good at reshuffling priorities.

That being said, precision and execution are absolutely fundamental.

You must learn fast and be ready to jump in and lead as soon as possible. You will be in charge of several projects at once, and they all have shifting time lines. Therefore, organizational skills, formula writing, and comfort around technology are necessities.

The resources we have are here because someone took charge asked for them. You are your best advocate. Each new project has new challenges, and you have to take initiative and be aware of what you need.

You must have a deep knowledge of the consumer packaged goods industry. We predominantly focus on “on-the-go snacks” including (but not limited to) beverages, sweet snacks, salty snacks, breakfast foods, and fast-casual dining concepts.

This requires a comprehensive understanding of what is possible in the manufacturing and ingredient world. We don’t expect you to know everything, but we do except that you know where to find the information you need in order to execute a wide variety of projects. And we expect that you will stay current on trends and advancements within the industry, so that you can come up with innovative ideas and techniques.

Communication is critical. You need to be able to explain your work to the CEO, the Head Chef, the interns, and everyone in between. We are a small team, and everyone plays a crucial part.

This is your opportunity to dream up and make foods that nobody (outside our lab) thinks are possible.
Are you ready to jump in?

- BS in Food Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
- At least 5 years spent researching and developing food. Not products or mixtures, but FOOD. We need people who have the understanding of what it takes to develop a product but the flexibility to know there are multiple paths to the finish line.
- Someone who understands what makes a product spoil and how to test it (predicting what is going to go bad before it happens and how the manufacturing and packaging are going to change the product)
- Ability to combine nutrition with functionality. Must have a detailed understanding of nutrition labels.
- The ability to extrapolate from the bench to the pilot plant and to see where things will fail before they get there.
- Strong computer skills.
- A love of food and a desire to share that with the people around you.
