JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for exploring and creating concept prototypes that assist in refining product and technology platforms to support the innovation pipeline for Nestle Brand partners - Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine, Hot Pockets, Maggi, La cocinera, Buitoni, DiGiorno, Jack’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Tombstone, Wagner and Tollhouse as well as the R&D Nestle Global environment and other Nestlé USA brands.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works with cross functional team to translate consumer benefits to product attributes
  2. Participates in consumer research to further understand benefits and product attributes
  3. Creates feasible product prototypes that deliver important consumer benefits for concept testing
  4. Optimize prototype design utilizing culinary, food science and manufacturing expertise
  5. Balances consumer preference with nutritional, financial and manufacturing requirements during prototype development
  6. Applies broad understanding of core technologies to innovation platforms
  7. Translate culinary creations into manufacturing feasible prototypes
  8. Work with Innovation Marketing to refine consumer opportunity areas
  9. Applies Nestle science and technologies to innovation platforms to create competitive advantage
  10. Performs competitive analysis within the category

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):

•BS / MS in Food Science or related field

•Minimum of 5 years food industry experience (product development preferred). •Demonstrated ability to successfully identify, develop and launch new products. •Excellent oral and written communication skills.

•Ability to communicate with different organizational levels.

•Proven ability to lead and work within team environments to achieve objectives. •Strong interpersonal skills.

•Focused on proactive resolution and ability to adapt quickly to changes.

•Ability to independently and actively manage multiple projects with significant level of complexity.

•Strong knowledge of ingredients, process, equipment, manufacturing with the ability to bring them together to deliver prototypes.

•Firm understanding of the product development process including pilot plant development, consumer testing, factory scale-up, and commercialization.

•Creative approach to problem solving

•Basic understanding of chemistry of food products, analytical testing, formulations, and processing used in food manufacturing
