Food Safety & Quality Control Technician- Raw Receiving

This position is responsible for monitoring Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance throughout all manufacturing plant
floor activities, collect raw perishable product and water samples, enter
relevant data, look out for non-compliances, and communicate issues observed.
This individual must work independently with minimum supervision. This is a
year-round position based in the San Juan Bautista.
Inspect all incoming raw product and evaluate the quality based on
Collect product samples aseptically for Raw Test & Hold Program
(Pathogen Testing) and deliver to the on-site laboratory.
Report process deviations, discrepancies, or violations immediately
Maintain constant communication with other departments (Receiving,
Inventory and Production)
Generate raw product documentation for all sample submissions;
deliver submission documentation to on-site laboratory and warehouse
Electronically document information gathered from food manufacturing,
distribution, and production floor activities.
Enter line and time period data into Food Safety & Quality
Control databases from product samples collected from processing lines.
Collect Wash Water samples from the processing wash lines for Wash
Audit information entered into Food Safety & Quality Control
databases frequently to maintain accurate and precise data entry throughout
Contributes to a successful food safety culture by following the
established guidelines as outlined in the Earthbound Farm Food Safety Policy.
Follows all Company food safety protocols without fail.
Always perform tasks in a manner that protects and promotes food
Proactively assist team members, managers and employees as needed.
Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Change Management Adaptable to a fast paced, shifting work
environment; willing to remain flexible to accommodate changing business
conditions, work requirements and scheduling needs.
Detail Oriented Attention to detail, ability to focus on the
project or task at hand and consistently deliver error free results.
Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Ag Science, or another related
field strongly desired.
Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
A minimum of one (1) year related Quality Control or Food Safety
experience in a food manufacturing environment; or relevant internship(s).
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred. Must be able
to read, write and speak fluently in the English language.
Ability to utilize a calculator and perform basic math such as
addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Ability to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to
lifting equipment (up to 25 lbs. unassisted), bending, kneeling, crouching,
standing, climbing or walking.
Ability and willingness to work environment in extremely cold
temperatures (34 36 degrees F) and wet conditions.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including evening, weekend and
Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
Proficient in 10-key by touch.
Work environment consists of a refrigerated manufacturing facility
with cold (34 36 degrees F) and wet conditions, the smell of chlorine,
heavy machinery, loud noises and forklift traffic.
