The Scientist R&D candy position is a technical role within the NA confectionary R&D group. The main responsibilities of the role are to bring technical expertise and know-how to the development of chewy candy products. This includes leading product, process and margin development projects and support to the manufacturing network.

The Scientist will work with plant engineering, supply chain and external manufacturers to develop products and bring them to commericalisation.

The Scientist will,

- Develop and commercialize the product development of NA candy concepts and initiatives needed to drive growth, productivity and quality for the NA region

- Support, develop and commercialize the process engineering elements of concepts and initiatives needed to drive candy growth and quality for the NA Region.

- Guide, develop and commercialize from concept through commercialization the programs needed to impact productivity goals for NA Confections.

- Translate business strategies into technical work plans and provide technical guidance from development through commercialization.

- Communicate effectively with cross functional partners across the supply chain and confections business teams

- Partner with Confectionary Centre of Excellence and global candy teams to implement best practices

- Provide leadership to build process technical expertise within Confections and active role for building

Success in this role will require strong technical skills (process and product) and knowledge, strong influencing skills, and understanding the confectionary manufacturing supply chain and product portfolio.

Lead programs and projects to deliver candy growth opportunities through capacity expansion -40%

Develop and commercialise new products and formats- 20%

Develop and commericalise margin pipeline opportunities – 20%

Technical guidance and support to NA confectionary team and plant support-20%


·         Experience working with proven track record of successful product launches and product & process development technology in the Food Industry – minimum 5 years

managing R&D people & projects. Change Management skills desired– minimum 5 years

Strong Process, Food Science and Food Chemistry knowledge within the Confections category– minimum 5 years
