Purpose of Position:

 

Lead team in the development of a robust pipeline of innovative products and platforms for all donut, bakery and sweet snacking occasions that meet the needs of our target consumers and the financial objectives of Dunkin? Brands.  Work strategically with cross functional partners in developing and executing a long term test calendar that delivers new innovations to market.

 

Day to Day Accountabilities:

 

This position leads a team of research chefs responsible for the development of new menu items and product platforms.  Essential duties include:

 

·         Researches and identifies food trends relevant to our target consumers and leads team in applying knowledge to new products and innovations.

·         Collaborates with category partners in building a robust test calendar

·         Presents new menu items and how they support brand strategy at key leadership meetings and franchisee committees.

·         Works with cross-functional partners in the testing and approval of new ingredients or operational processes.

·         Leads team members in the development of the ?gold standard? bench prototype and ensures relevant qualities and attributes are maintained throughout the commercialization process

·         Reviews and approves product specifications and specification manuals

·         Leads team in seeking out new technologies or ingredients for innovation

·         Ensures the team understands business direction and is developing menu items that support brand strategy.

·         Coach and mentor team members in their professional development

Education/Experience:

 

·         6-8 years? experience in R&D

·         Experience with people management required

·         Experience with food manufacturing

·         Prior baking and pastry experience

·         Culinary or Food Science Degree preferred

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

 

The work environment of this position may include, but is not limited to, the following:

 

·         Extended time seated at a computer or while attending meetings

·         Prolonged times standing during presentations, sampling events, and product showcases

·         Occasional days, beyond normal business hours, leading and assisting with preparations for franchisee or licensees meetings.  Duties may include, but are not limited to

§  Lifting

§  Extensive walking

§  Working in cold environments (eg. In and out of freezers and refrigerators)

§  Working in hot environments (commercial kitchens)

§  Working in wet environments (commercial kitchens) with wet slippery floors

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Office Based Roles:

Position is 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under office conditions.  Approximately 20% travel will be required in support of the position?s responsibilities.
